Absolutely love Goldens and you guys seem quite nice but I wasn't sure if you knew that the Furminator actually strips a Golden Retrievers top coat and cuts the guard hairs which is why when you use those you get so much hair mainly because of its thickness . After a lot of time of regular use, this keeps the hair shorter than normal because you're constantly cutting the guard hairs and actually not getting the undercoat which is what shed so much and traps / releases it during the seasons. Especially with long haired breeds like the Golden it's best to just get an undercoat rake for shedding season and use a slicker daily to keep it down is best for their coat.
